I found a new love – 1960

This was a huge hit for Lonnie Lee in 1960. It went double Gold which in those days was a new phenomenon. Written by Nat Kipner and changed by Lonnie to suit himself.

The bass intro and outro he included in his arrangement was because at that time he liked Peggy Lee’s, ‘Fever’ which has a similar intro.

It went to #1 on many charts as did the flip-side, making it the first double sided hit in Australia

The flip-side was ‘Defenceless’ written by Otis Blackwell who wrote Don’t be Cruel and many others for Elvis.
